YBA PLAY is the Washington Nationals Youth Baseball Academy's largest program. YBA PLAY is a high-quality, structured, consistent, and fun developmental baseball/softball opportunity for girls and boys ages 5-12 that offers year-round baseball clinics.  YBA PLAY is focused on growing the game of baseball by minimizing barriers to participation.  It is a FREE program that provides ALL equipment needs. By using modified rules, YBA PLAY is able to make the game more accessible to new players, more fun by promoting a faster pace of play, and reward effort over skill.

During the Spring and Fall, we meet once a week on Mondays at the Ferebee Hope for games, drills, and activities.

During the Summer, we expand to four different locations in Wards 5-8 and hold sessions on MONDAY & WEDNESDAY for ages 5-8 and TUESDAY & THURSDAY for ages 9-12. In addition to the expanding time on the field, PLAYers also receive a free baseball uniform.

Attendance:

Given YBA PLAY measures social emotional learning (character development) and physical fitness levels, attendance is important! Attendance is key for our PLAYers to achieve more growth in both areas AND for us as coaches to measure that growth. Please do your best to get your child to all YBA PLAY activities.

Attire:

· Closed toed shoes (Cleats are not required!)

· Full water bottle

· Athletic wear, appropriate for weather
