YBA PLAY is the Washington Nationals Youth Baseball Academy's largest program. YBA PLAY is a high-quality, structured, consistent, and fun developmental baseball/softball opportunity for girls and boys ages 6-12 that offers year round baseball clinics each MONDAY at the Nats Academy but is highlighted by a free, instructional league during the summer months at four different locations in Ward 5-8. YBA PLAY is focused on growing the game of baseball by minimizing barriers to participation, particularly for low-income communities; YBA PLAY is FREE and provides ALL uniform and equipment needs. By using modified rules, YBA PLAY is able to make the game more accessible to new players, more fun by promoting a faster pace of play, and reward effort over skill.

Attendance:

Given YBA PLAY measures social emotional learning (character development) and physical fitness levels, attendance is important! Attendance is key for our PLAYers/participants to achieve more growth in both those areas AND for us as coaches to measure that growth. Please do your best to get your child to all YBA PLAY activities.

Attire:

• Closed toed shoes
• Cleats are not required
• Bring water (will have some on site if need be)

• Athletic wear, appropriate for the weather
