YBA PLAY is the Washington Nationals Youth Baseball Academy's largest program. YBA PLAY is a high-quality, structured, consistent, and fun developmental baseball/softball opportunity for girls and boys ages 6-12 that is highlighted by a free, instructional league during the summer months at various locations, around the District. YBA PLAY is focused on growing the game of baseball by minimizing barriers to participation, particularly for low-income communities; YBA PLAY is FREE and provides ALL uniform and equipment needs.

Location:

The YBA PLAY Summer League will be held at four different sites, go to the location easiest for you and your family:

• Ward 5: Trinidad Recreation Center (1310 Childress St NE)
• Ward 6: King Greenleaf Recreation Center (201 N St SW)
• Ward 7: Nationals Youth Baseball Academy (3675 Ely Pl SE)
• Ward 8: Lockridge Field/Oxon Run Park (900 Mississippi Ave SE, at corner of Wheeler and Mississippi)

Schedule by Age Group:

6-9 year olds

• Practices: Mondays, 6:15pm-7:45pm | Games: Wednesdays, 6:15pm-7:45pm

10-12 year olds

• Practices: Tuesdays, 6:15pm-7:45pm | Games: Thursdays, 6:15pm-7:45pm

Attendance:

Given YBA PLAY measures social emotional learning (character development) and physical fitness levels, attendance is important! Attendance is key for our PLAYers/participants to achieve more growth in both those areas AND for us as coaches to measure that growth. Please do your best to get your child to all YBA PLAY activities. If families cannot come to at least 60% of YBA PLAY sessions, their space may be vacated. Thank you for understanding. Participants that don't miss a game or practice will be entered in a raffle to win a group of tickets (up to 6) for a Nats game in August!

Attire:

• Closed toed shoes
• Cleats are not required
• Bring water (will have some on site if need be)

• Athletic wear, appropriate for the summer weather
